A Step Above Stables is located on a 90 acre parcel of land that is less than a half hour away from our cabins in Murphy. You’ll find the stables at 696 Mauney Circle, Blairsville, GA 30512.
What to Expect
Whether you’re looking for pony rides, horseback riding lessons, or a guided trail ride, A Step Above Stables has it all. For those who are just passing through and want to see the North Georgia mountains up close, the stables offers trail riding seven days a week! You’ll ride the smooth gaited Tennessee Walking Horse, a breed prized for its effortless gait, on winding forest trails, across babbling brooks, and along the glistening waters of a lake. All of the stable’s guides are well versed in the area and are accomplished horsemen, so you’ll 
learn more about horses and the lore of the mountains.
Prices
A one hour walk/trot trail ride is just $35 per rider. A one hour walk/trot/canter ride that’s suitable for more experienced riders is $40 a person. If you’re wanting a more lengthy ride, there’s a two hour walk/trot/canter ride that follows the shoreline of the picturesque Lake Nottley and concludes with a tour of the farm. All rides require a two person minimum while the two hour ride requires a four person minimum. The staff always recommends calling ahead for reservations to guarantee an outing.
